What is the Cost of One Person's Sin?
REVEREND GORDON WILLIAMS, JULY 2018

What is the cost of one person's sin? Many people figure that their sin damage isn't very expensive. Jesus addressed our sin when He was questioned by his disciples in the “Parable of the Unforgiving Servant.”

His disciple Peter suggested that seven times a day was a good figure to forgive someone. Jesus suggested a stunning figure of 490 times a day which amounts to 178,850 times a year! Forgiveness is to be a daily part of our lives; to be given freely and without exception.

"Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven." (Matt. 18:21-22)

In the "Parable of the Talents" (Matt. 25:14-30), Jesus expressed man's sin by comparing it to "10,000 talents of gold." In today's currency, that would be the inconceivable amount of $33,292,650,000! Even if a person had that much money, he/she still couldn’t pay the debt for their sin. Jesus is the God's appointed son, and the only one who has never sinned; He paid for our sins on the Cross of Calvary (Jn. 19:17-26).

Many people have said to me that they couldn’t have sinned that much! I remind them that it is the same for everyone: "For there is no distinction; since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:22-23). Look at the first recorded sin in the world - Adam and Eve who disobeyed God by taking some fruit from the Garden of Eden when He had told them not to touch it! Just that one sin alone spread out all over the whole of creation!

When Jesus forgives us, our sin debt is paid in full, but only if we are willing to repent and receive His forgiveness. There are those who pray the Sinner's prayer, yet continue to hold on to their disbelief and continue in their sin. These people are in conflict with God, not knowing the truth (Jesus). God's Salvation is far from them. (Rom. 6:1-12).

When we receive Jesus' full Salvation package, the believer receives the Baptism of the Holy Spirit on their personal Day of Pentecost (as in the Book of Acts), with the proof of the miracle signs following. (Mk. 16:16–18). Only then can they hear His voice personally, and know God's direction for their lives.

Often we forget that we have been bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19–20; 7:23). Jesus' ministry is designed to make disciples out of us. He commanded us to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to the whole creation. He who believes will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mk. 16:16–17).

"God bears witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His own will” (Heb. 2:4). Jesus said, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe" (Jn, 4:48).

This is why we invite you to pray and ask Jesus what contributions you can make to our exciting Holy Spirit ministry. Gordon continues to receive invitations to minister and preach the gospel all around the world. With your continued prayer and financial help, we pray for a "bumper-crop harvest" of people for 2018! Gordon does not charge fees to churches or ministries that invite him, regardless of their size. Like the Apostle Paul, he is led by the Holy Spirit, and asks for love offerings/gifts to allow him to continue to accept invitations anywhere in the world.

Please pray and continue to be a “cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7) asking Jesus how you can contribute. Throughout 2018, help us to increase the harvest of people of all ages into the Kingdom of God (Jn. 4:5)

“WE CAN ALL RECEIVE OUR DAY OF PENTECOST” (ACTS 2:4)
At our meeting in Beaverton, Ontario, a tall man in his 40’s said, “I have been disappointed by many ministries! I was raised as an Anglican and I have been seeking God. I went to the Toronto Airport Church and it was huge disappointment. They are crazy!” I agreed with him sympathetically knowing that this church did not do a biblical ministry there. He went on saying, “I’m tired of looking,” and was discouraged. “Well tonight you will not be disappointed!” I assured him.

He prayed with me for forgiveness from his sin, and then for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I outlined the importance for him not to speak in English while we prayed for the Holy Spirit to release his tongues. After a few minutes, he burst into speaking in his new language. I was able to give him the interpretation to his tongues message.  As I spoke it out, his eyes filled with tears. He continued to speak in his new tongues for up to a half an hour! He received his personal “Day of Pentecost!" Amen!

“HE WHO HAS AN EAR, LET HIM HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS...” (REV. 2:7; 3:6)
At the Presbyterian Church in Camburio, Brazil, a 30 year old woman came to me for prayer asking the Lord to give her “a word.” As she spoke in her tongues language, the Lord gave me the interpretation. The "word from the Lord” was, “I have already told you what I want you to do. Stop running from one person to another. Come to me because I do not tell other people what I want you to do.” “Is that true?” I asked afterwards. “Yes, it is true!" she replied the tears flowed down her cheeks. Thank you Jesus for your grace, mercy and faithfulness!”

“IT IS FOR FREEDOM, CHRIST HAS SET US FREE” (GAL. 5:5)
At the Church of Assemblies of God, Joinville Brazil, the Pastor brought a very tall man, at least 6 and 1/2 ft tall, to the altar. The Pastor said, “He says that he has a demon!” I asked the man to explain some of the weird things that had happened to him. He told me that he could not control his body, and was often thrown to the floor shaking uncontrollably. He was told by the demon to do bad things. Then I asked him, “Are you willing to receive Jesus as your Saviour, and receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?” He agreed! I prayed with him and cast out anything that was not of Jesus. Then I commanded the evil spirits to leave and go to the abyss (LK. 8:31). He received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and began to speak in his tongues language with the signs following (Mk. 16:17– 18). Amen!

“LET THE CHILDREN COME (LK. 18:15–17)
At a meeting in Owen Sound, Ontario, a 6 year old boy named Jeremiah was waiting for prayer. I asked him what he would like to have prayer for. He didn’t answer me. I asked him if he was sick. He said, “I have a pain in my tummy.” I asked him if he had invited Jesus to come into his heart yet. He shook his head, made a face and said, “No”. I asked him, “Would you like to?" He shook his head, made a face and then said, “Yes.” I explained that the Holy Spirit was going to go right through into his tummy and give him the Gift of a tongues language. He prayed along with me and fell to the floor and laid there quietly speaking in his new tongues language (Mk. 16:17). I prayed for healing for his tummy (Mk. 16:18). Thank you Jesus!
